City lucky to have police officer

Here’s a story about a local police officer on the job, not a complaint or accusation, but a tribute to the local force and one guy in particular.

When it came to his attention that a small group of kids from Kid’s College had taken it upon themselves to clean up Morin Park, this officer got out of his car, put on some gloves similar to those that the kids wore and joined in.

He told them they were doing a great job and asked them what other things they liked to do, all while picking up food wrappers, cigarette remnants and other trash right along side them. The kids were over the moon about this special attention. It had been their idea to clean up the park.

So here’s a special shout out to Officer Jason Taylor for validating their civic-minded special project in this powerful way. We are very lucky to have him patrolling our neighborhood. It’s obvious that he really cares about this town.

And thanks to all our officers for their best efforts on our behalf. I don’t think many people could handle life’s crazy stuff coming at them almost every day and still keep their humanity in tact. Somehow Jason has.

Thanks again.
