Laskowske said no one was inside at the time the fire started, and the cause of the fire has not yet been released.

J.D. Carlson, deputy director of police with the Albert Lea Police Department, said he saw black smoke when he arrived.

Laskowske said the fire was contained before 1 p.m. All three shifts from the Fire Department were called in for the fire.

A dog that normally lives at the home had been taken to the groomer and was not home.
