A-C students supported cause

On behalf of the American Heart Association and the millions of Americans affected by cardiovascular diseases and strokes, we want to thank the students, staff, parents and donors in the Alden-Conger School District who participated in Jump Rope for Heart and Red Out this 2015-16 school year. Cardiovascular diseases and strokes are the leading cause of death in Minnesota and unfortunately, our children are not immune.

Jump Rope for Heart, Hoops for Heart, Red Out and Heart Chase provide a fun activity to rally a school community around heart-healthy lifestyle choices and encourage students to have conversations about heart health while giving them the opportunity to help others. These Alden-Conger students certainly answered the call, raising $9,459 to help save lives in Minnesota and beyond.

A special congratulations to the heart heroes who lead the way and provided a memorable service-learning project for their students, including Melissa Wasmoen and Kristen Hoiland and all of their helpers. We are thrilled we were able to provide the Alden-Conger School District with additional P.E. equipment in appreciation of their efforts.
