Permit issued for new spec building

A city building permit with a valuation of $1,643,850 was issued to the Albert Lea Port Authority for the construction of a 250-by-250-foot spec building at 504 14th St.

The latest report from the city of Albert Lea Inspection Department shows 42 building permits with a valuation of $3,616,164 were issued during May. This increases the total valuation of permits issued during the first five months of the year to $7,103,713.

At the end of May 2008 the city’s report shows a total valuation of $5,262,069 for permits issued.

The Good Samaritan Society, 75507 240th St., has been issued a permit with a valuation of $910,000 for “interior renovation of station two.”

A building permit with a valuation of $747,000 has been issued for a 9,750-square-foot addition to the Northbridge Mall, 2510 N. Bridge Ave.

Cove Holdings LLC., 1170 Wedgewood Road, has been issued a permit with a valuation of $80,000 for the construction of a 48-by- 100-foot maintenance building.

A permit with a valuation of $48,500 was issued during May to Skyline Plaza Associates LLC. to remodel half of the Skyline Annex for a Maytag Laundry.

The Freeborn County Planning and Zoning Office issued 21 building permits during May with a listed valuation of $360,693. This increases the estimated valuation of county permits to $1,380,632 for the first five months of the year.

One new home and four home remodeling and/or garages were part of the county-issued permits in May.
