Here are highlights in history for Sept. 14, gleaned from the files of the Albert Lea Tribune:
1992 — The Tribune featured the last known photo of Gen. George S. Patton Jr. as he awarded the Distinguished Service Medal to Brig. Gen. Clare Hibbs Armstrong, formerly of Albert Lea, on Dec. 8, 1945.
1982 — The Albert Lea Department of Inspections was requesting that the owners of the buildings at 314-316 and 330-334 S. Broadway Ave. make repairs to the  two structures.
1942 — Delmar Fredrickson caught three pickerel and two black bass in Fountain Lake. The largest pickerel was 24 inches long and weighed over four pounds.
