Here are highlights in history for Sept. 24, gleaned from the files of the Albert Lea Tribune:

1991 — The Drug Abuse Resistance Program (D.A.R.E.) was underway for fifth and sixth grade students at the Emmons Public School.

1981 — The musical duo of Arlen and Ole would be playing at the Millhouse Bar & Lounge in Alden on Friday and Saturday night.
