Here are highlights in history for Oct. 10, gleaned from the files of the Albert Lea Tribune:

1992 — A front-page photo featured Larry Alvey’s pumpkin patch located just west of Albert Lea.

1982 — “Wave-Out Washburn” was the theme for the Albert Lea High School Homecoming parade. However, this slogan didn’t work out and Minneapolis Washburn won the football game with a score of 8-7.

1962 — Shuffleboard courts were added to the city park in Clarks Grove.
