Here are highlights in history for Nov. 23, gleaned from the files of the Albert Lea Tribune:
1992 — Jeannine Nelson, 20, of rural Albert Lea, was crowned as the new Miss Albert Lea. She replaced Tanya Jacobs in this role.
1982 — The city of Albert Lea was negotiating with the Kahler Corp. of Rochester to purchase the former Clothing Care building at the north end of Broadway Avenue. (Note: This sale never became a reality.)
