Here are highlights in history for Dec. 8, gleaned from the files of the Albert Lea Tribune:

1985 — Auditions would be held for the Albert Lea Community Theater play, “The Effect of Gamma Rays on Man in the Moon Marigolds.” The main needs were for five females, ages 16 and up.

1975 — One of the problems involving vehicle owners during this era was based on thefts of citizens-band radios and stereo tape decks from parked cars.

1945 — There were 24 candidates for election to be the mayor of Ellendale. Louie Rebbe won this post with a total of 42 votes.
