Bulldogs blowout Broncos

BELMOND, Iowa– Lindy Pins scored 18 points, while Haley Mathews recorded 12 points as the Lake Mills Bulldogs girls’ basketball team defeated the Belmond-Klemme Broncos 52-12 Friday in Belmond.

The Bulldogs(9-4 overall, 6-2 North Iowa Conference) defense was lights out as Lake Mills held a 32-2 lead at halftime.

The Bulldogs defense gave up only two points during three quarters of play.

“I am very excited that all the players on my varsity roster got quality minutes,” Lake Mills coach Beth Van Roekel said. “We played excellent defense and our bench players really stepped up their game. Belmond-Klemme never gave up.”

Amanda Lampman recorded a team-high seven rebounds on the night for Lake Mills.

The Bulldogs are back in action on Saturday as they travel to North Sentral Kossuth.
