Alyssa Sager had 29 points and nine rebounds, but it wasn’t enough as the Mankato East Cougars girls’ basketball team defeated the Albert Lea Tigers 80-61 Thursday in Mankato.

Along with Sager, Brittani Zuniga was the other Tiger scorer in double figures with 12 points on the night.

Albert Lea shot 26 percent from the field and went 16-of-28 from the free throw line.

Albert Lea is back in action on Tuesday as they travel to Austin.
