1989 — Paula Johnson, a Tribune staff writer, was also writing a weekly column.

1979 — The Pirouettes Ballet of Jazz dance group, directed by Joyce Matthies, would be presenting a program the following evening at the Southwest Junior High School Little Theatre.

1939 — During the previous year the Albert Lea Municipal Band presented 12 concerts in Fountain Lake Park, according to a report made to the city council.
