Here are highlights in history for April 21, gleaned from the files of the Albert Lea Tribune:

1986 — A Tribune article said there were 21 men and eight women volunteers providing both fire protection ad emergency ambulance services for the Freeborn area.

1976 — Eight 16 ounce bottles of Seven-up, Diet Rite and RC Cola were on sale at Albert Lea’s Piggly Wiggly store for 89 cents, plus deposit.

1966 — One of the speakers at the meeting of the Southern Minnesota Fire Department Association in Albert Lea was Phil Hodapp of the Minnesota State Patrol.
