Here are highlights in history for June 6, gleaned from the files of the Albert Lea Tribune:

1987 — A two-page ad in the Tribune was based on grand opening specials for the new Wal-Mart store in the Skyline Mall on Albert Lea’s west side.

1977 — Members of the Winnebago Skydivers Club of Forest City, Iowa, performed parachute jumps during the Cloverleaf Lions Breakfast Fly In at the Albert Lea Airport.

1967 — A children’s theater group, “The Back Door Moppets,” was being planned for the Albert Lea Art Center.
