Kimberly Zent, 51, Richfield

Kimberly Ann Zent, 51, of Richfield, finished her last race on Sunday, July 3, 2011, peacefully at home with Pat Sorensen after years of hopeful struggle with cancer.

Kimberly was born Sept. 15, 1959, in North Dakota and attended a one room schoolhouse, graduated from Mott High School and later attended North Dakota State University in Fargo. She was an amazing gardener. Everyone admired her peppers and salsa. She loved to in-line skate and was passionate about rescuing cats. She enjoyed traveling to Europe with Pat, visiting France, Spain, Italy and Germany. She also enjoyed sailing in the Greek Islands, the Caribbean, Lake Superior and the Gulf of Mexico. Kimberly will be greatly missed by all the people whose lives she deeply touched over the years.

Kimberly was survived by Pat Sorensen; her parents, Werner and Velma Zent; her four sisters and three brothers and numerous nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be at 5 p.m. Saturday with a memorial service at 6 p.m. and reception to follow at the Cremation Society of Minnesota, 7110 France Ave., Edina. Memorials are preferred and should be directed to the Susan G. Komen Cancer Foundation.
