Here are highlights in history for July 11, gleaned from the files of the Albert Lea Tribune:

1986 — Kentucky Fried Chicken, 910 S. Broadway Ave., was asking customers to leave their change after ordering meals as a way to help the March of Dimes campaign.

1970 — The Albert Lea High School track team selected Bruce Buboltz, Jim Senske and Clay Cameron as the new co-captains.

1960 — About 80 senior citizens attended the Old Timers Picnic at Edgewater Park. Music was by the Viking Accordion Band and Irv Sorenson was master of ceremonies.
