A Celebration of Life for Steven J. Zuniga, of Albert Lea, will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday at Grace Lutheran Church, Albert Lea. The Rev. Todd Walsh will officiate. Friends may visit with family from 4 to 7 p.m. Wednesday at Bonnerup Funeral Service, and one hour before the service at the church.

Steven died at his home on Saturday, Aug. 13, 2011. He was 22.

He was born in Albert Lea to Kristin (Bergeson) Nemec and Jorge Zuniga on Dec. 21, 1988. He graduated from Albert Lea High School in 2007. Steve worked at Nelson’s Market Place and was currently employed at Select Foods in Albert Lea. Steve enjoyed playing with his daughter, Bria Jean, and wrestling with his little brother. He loved being outdoors, camping, having fun and laughing with his family and friends.

Left to cherish his memory is his daughter, Bria Jean, of Albert Lea; mother and stepfather, Kristin and Melvin Nemec, of Albert Lea; father, Jorge Zuniga, of Albert Lea; special friend, Krissy Bartness, of Albert Lea; brothers and sisters: Justin Nemec, Valerie and Cassandra Nemec, Selena and Esmeralda Zuniga and Jorge Zuniga Jr.; grandparents: Larry and Deb Bergeson, Pedro and Lydia Zuniga; great-grandparents: Phyllis Bergeson, Marcelino and Maria Velasquez and many aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.

He was preceded in death by his grandma, Patricia (Pat) Storvick; great-grandparents: Darlene Helgeson, Donald Hanson, Howard Bergeson and Aurelio and Aurora Zuniga; and cousin Chad Hanson.

Steven was very loving and caring and gave with his whole heart. He will be remembered for his hugs, smiles and happy spirits.
