1991 — The Big Island Rendezvous was considering a plan to move this annual event from Myre-Big Island State Park to Bancroft Bay City Park.

1981 — Wilhelm (Bill) Bratten, owner of Albert Lea’s Bratten Jewelers for 50 years, died the previous day.

1961 — Jeff Brooke and Bruce Palmer of Albert Lea High School were named to the All Big Nine Football Team.
