Harriet Nehring, 89, Wells

Harriet I. Nehring, 89, of Wells, died Thursday, July 19, 2012, at Parkview Care Center in Wells. Funeral services will be held Monday at 10:30 a.m. at Good Shepherd Lutheran Church in Wells, the Rev. Ken Jensen officiating. Burial will be at Rice Lake Cemetery in Foster Township, Faribault County. Visitation will be held at Bruss-Heitner Funeral Home in Wells from 2 to 5 p.m. today as well one hour prior to services at the church. Bruss-Heitner Funeral Home in Wells is in charge of the arrangements.

Harriet Nehring

Harriet was born Oct. 25, 1922, in Walters, to Helmer and Sena (Twedt) Slette. She married Clarence Nehring on Sept. 7, 1945 in Walters. She was baptized and confirmed at Faith Lutheran in Walters and graduated from Alden High School. Harriet was devoted to her faith and family, and will be remembered most for her integrity and her quietly efficient manner.

Harriet is survived by her children, David of Cannon Falls, Ann of Blaine, Tim (Della) of Richland Center, Wis., Mary of Wells, and Scott (Teresa) of Wells; grandchildren, Clint, Jesse (Kyana), Cody and Liberty; great-grandsons Turner and Davis; sister-in-law Bea Slette; and many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Clarence, in 1993; son Dennis in 1968; and daughter,Joan in 2009; brother, Palmer Slette, her sisters-in-law Leona (Ludwig) Scherb and Adeline (Truman) Shellen.
