Michael George Anderson was born on June 27, 1952, in Albert Lea, the son of Alan W. and Loretta (Stieglbauer) Anderson. He graduated from Albert Lea High School.

Michael had worked in construction with his uncles and his dad, refinished antiques and operated a video store.

Michael had worked in construction with his uncles and his dad, refinished antiques and operated a video store.

He was very handy, always remodeling and fixing things. His hobbies also included woodcarving and gardening.

He always enjoyed spending time with his parents and in the last years appreciated antiquing with his mom and driving her wherever she needed to go.

He was an avid golfer and loved to hunt, fish and play pool.

He had several special feline friends; Kirby was among his favorites.

Michael died suddenly on Friday, Feb. 21, 2014, at Mayo Clinic Health System, Albert Lea.

He was 61.

He will be greatly missed by his wife, Cindy Parry, of Albert Lea, his mother, Loretta Anderson, also of Albert Lea; brothers Jim (Jenny) Anderson of Rocky Ford, Colo., and Randy Anderson of Albert Lea; niece Nicole Anderson and her daughters Lilah and Lexi; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law Mike (Kathy) Parry of Waseca, Vicky (Randy) Ondracek of Santa Barbara, Calif., Lori Parry of Austin; and several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, great-nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his father, Alan.

In honor of Michael’s wishes, there will be no service. The family will have a private memorial gathering.
