Join in helping take care of lakes

Does your family value the lakes in our community and want to see improvements made?
The Lakes Foundation is the go-to organization in motivating the community in our Lake Restoration efforts — we need your help in order to continue these efforts.
Since the 1930s we have led an effort to restore and preserve our most treasured natural resource — our lakes. Our organization is reinvigorated and excited about the future. In the past few years we have been involved in:
• Capturing a $50,000 grant from Anheuser Busch for restoration efforts and creation of a soft-launch point to get more folks on Albert Lea Lake.
• Obtaining the extension of the Albert Lea sales tax to capture an additional $3 million in voter-approved sales tax revenue.
• Securing $7.5 million in state funding for the restoration of Fountain Lake.
Clearly doing good things. We are a volunteer organization, but we do have costs of operation to accomplish these goals. We are inviting select residents to be a long-term member and partner for our organization so that we can continue to promote our lakes and educate our community of the importance of this important natural resource.
We are kicking off 2015 by asking you: What’s in your walleye?
Help us clean-up the lakes for the good of our walleye, perch, turtles, walkers, boaters, swimmers, birders, bikers and children. This is a community effort. We need your community spirit now in the form of a cash donation and membership. We encourage you to visit at www.albertlealakes.org and join with a membership or donation today!
