Betty Knudson

Betty Marie (Wolff) Knudson, 73, of Andover, formerly of Albert Lea, died Wednesday, April 22, 2015, as a result of cancer at Mercy Hospital in Coon Rapids.

A memorial service for Betty Knudson will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at Trinity Lutheran Church in Albert Lea. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at church. Interment will be in Hillcrest Cemetery in Albert Lea.

She left behind the following loved ones: children Jackie Larson of Faribault, Tony Knudson of Maplewood, and Nikki (Randy) Wirz of Elk River; grandchildren Angie (Ray) York of Wannamingo, Jake Larson of Faribault, Mary (Josh) Hellerud of Nerstrand, Rosa (Kyle) Ackerman of Owatonna and Zoey Wirz of Elk River; great-grandchildren Parker and Edison Ackerman and Isabelle, Henrik and Penelope Hellerud; siblings Larry (Kathy) Wolff of Maize, Kansas, Kitty (Mario) Disaia of Elizabeth, Pennsylvania, and Pat Koss of Champaign, Illinois; several beloved aunts, many cherished cousins, nieces and nephews; and longtime friend, Jeanie Steinbring, of 42 years.

Betty was preceded in death by parents, Chester and Esther Wolff; sister, Jean Walsh; the father of her children, Alert Knudson; and some wonderful aunts and uncles.

She also had many other friends along the way she lovingly called family.

Her hobbies included softball, bowling, camping, cooking, canning, grilling and hosting family gatherings. She worked hard her whole life and made the world a better place because of it. Being a gracious tissue donor, someone now has her beautiful, big blue eyes.
