Lorraine Provo, 1921-2015

Lorraine Provo of Albert Lea died Wednesday, Nov. 18, 2015, at St. John’s Lutheran Community in Albert Lea. She was 94.

Lorraine was born May 2, 1921, in Albert Lea to parents Lyman and Ethel (née Envoldsen) Walker.

On May 2, 1942, Lorraine married Lyle Heilman in Alden and later divorced. Two sons were born to this union.

On Oct. 21, 1972, she married Don Provo in Sioux Falls, South Dakota. Lorraine and Don enjoyed many years living on Fountain Lake in a home blessed with many visits of children, grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

Lorraine was employed at Freeborn Mower Co-op. for 27 years. One of her favorite hobbies included playing bridge, which she was still actively doing until a few weeks ago.

Those left to mourn her loss include her sons William L. (Cathy) Heilman of Spring Hill, Kansas, and Barry L. (Susan) Heilman of Albert Lea; seven grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; five great-great-grandchildren; sister-in-law, Genevieve Walker, of Albert Lea; sister, Joan (Harold) Germann, of Sauk Rapids; and special friends Herb and Caroline Sorensen, Elaine Sonka, Bev Nelson and Jennie Rhiner.

Lorraine was preceded in death by her parents Lyman and Ethel Walker; husband, Don Provo; brother, Franklin Walker; and special friends Mardell Robinson and Bob Sonka.

Memorials are preferred to the Albert Lea American Legion.

A private family viewing and burial was held Saturday.
