Archie spent his life caring for his parents, tending to their needs as they aged, and caring for the land he loved.  Special joys in his life were his niece and nephews, watching them grow into people he was proud of. He was a thoughtful, quiet individual with his own sense of humor, living by simple means, sharing life’s lessons with those around him and always putting other’s needs before his own. Archie enjoyed sharing laughs with his niece and nephews reading Far Side cartoons, having root beer and ice cream and watching Jeopardy on TV and knowing a lot of the answers.

He is survived by brother, Arlow Rugland, and wife, Julie, of Northwood; niece, Jessica Rugland of Eden Prairie; and nephews Kristoffer Rugland and his wife, Addie, and their children, Amaya and Max, of Northwood and Chad Rugland of Mason City, Iowa.

Archie was preceded in death by his parents Alfred and Carol Rugland, and by his special hired-man, a four-legged boxer named Obie.

“Gå med Gud,” which is Norwegian for “Go with God.”
