Volunteerism leads to healthier, happier lives

This April, Albert Lea and the Blue Zones Project are celebrating volunteers. Volunteers are the force that nonprofits need in order to offer necessary services. Senior Resources has the privilege of working with 70 volunteers! They serve as drivers and office support. They help complete jobs with the chore program and are key in getting the Senior Scene mailed. Volunteers are essential to the care that is so needed through our caregiver program. These are vital activities at Senior Resources as we help people stay in their own homes as long as possible, and it couldn’t be done without volunteers.

Volunteerism also leads to a happier and healthier life. There has been much research done to understand the benefits to those who help others. It is a way to give back as our resources and time allows.

Thank you volunteers! Our community is a better one because of you.
