Betty Lampman, 1931-2016

A memorial service for Betty Lou Lampman will be at 11:30 a.m. Thursday at Bonnerup Funeral chapel in Albert Lea. The Rev. Russell Scepaniak will officiate. Visitation will begin at 11 a.m. and continue until the time of the service. Interment will take place at St. Theodore Catholic Cemetery.
Betty passed away on Monday, July 11, 2016, at Methodist Hospital in Rochester. She was 84.
Betty Lou (Tennyson) was born Sept. 28, 1931, to Theodore and Doris (Carrier) Tennyson in Albert Lea. She attended and graduated from Albert Lea High School. Betty married Irvin Lampman in August 1949 and they made their home in Albert Lea. Betty was a member of St. Theodore Catholic Church. Betty had many jobs throughout her life. She worked at Montgomery Wards, North Park Drug Store, as a certified nurse’s aide and was the manager of the Channel View Apartments for a period of time. On top of that, she also took great care of her children and home.
Betty was a Girl Scout leader in her earlier years and a member of the Moose Lodge. In her free time, she enjoyed reading, listening to music, going bowling and playing the card game 500. Above all, being a mother to her three daughters gave her the greatest joy in her life.
She is preceded in death by her father, Theodore Tennyson; mother, Doris Tennyson-Bunse; a son, Michael; and husband, Irvin.
Those left to cherish her memory include daughters Barbara (Nicholas) Christenson of Chicago, Michele (David) Nelson of Albert Lea and Debra (Tom) Sniegowski of Chicago; grandchildren Matthew McParland, Sarah Sniegowski, Nathan Sniegowski, Peter (Jamie) Fray, Jennifer (Mark) Fray, Katie (Eduardo) Antpack, Alyssa (fiance, Aaron Lundquist) Nelson and Kristen Nelson; six great-grandchildren; sister, Barbara Lanning of Minnetonka; as well as many other loving relatives and friends.
