Larry Bluhm, 1945-2016

Memorial services for Larry G. Bluhm, 71, of Albert Lea will be at 5 p.m. Saturday at Bayview/Freeborn Funeral Home. The Rev. Eileen Woyen will officiate. Larry passed away Sunday, Oct. 9, 2016, at Homestead Hospice in Owatonna.
Larry G. Bluhm was born July 10, 1945, in Waseca, the son of Martin and Dorothy (Young) Bluhm. He grew up in Waldorf, graduating from high school there. On Aug. 22, 1965, Larry was united in marriage to Rebecca Ann Bakken at First Lutheran Church in Alden. He worked as a welder with Corchran Inc. in Waseca.
Larry was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church, the Fraternal Order of Eagles Aerie No. 2258 and American Legion Post No. 56. He enjoyed spending time with family, watching the Vikings and the Twins and following the Decorah Eagles from the time the first eggs are laid until the eaglets fledge. He also liked going to flea markets, traveling to historical sites and train museums and watching Bob Ross’ “Joy of Painting.”
Larry is survived by his wife, Rebecca; children Donna (Douglas) Caywood, Richard (CeCe) Bluhm, Gregory (Amy) Bluhm and Sheila (Peter) Hearn; grandchildren Mitchell, Bradon, Jacob and Lauren Caywood, Stephanie and Jacob Becker and Macalister, Wesley and Tierney Hearn; brother, Gary Bluhm; sisters Karen (Roger) Vagness and Claudette (Brian) Swenson; sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law Shirley Bluhm, Rosanne (Alan) Brandau, Peggy (Bruce Triechler) Bakken and Mark Bakken; and many nieces, nephews and cousins.
Larry was preceded in death by his parents Martin and Dorothy; siblings Willard, Cleone, Clinton and John; sisters-in-law Dorothy Bluhm, Joyce Bluhm and Kathryn Bluhm; and father-in-law and mother-in-law Manly and Ethel Bakken.
