2nd half surge lifts Knights

Erika Bute scored 23 points and Abbie Theusch added 16 as the Alden-Conger girls’ basketball team beat Madelia, 48-34.
The Knights scored just 16 points in the first half and trailed by two at halftime.
But they exploded for 32 points in the second half.
Mikenna Erickson grabbed 14 rebounds for the Knights.
The win was the fourth in a row for Alden-Conger, as it has pushed its record to 13-9 with this late-season surge.
It will host Lake Crystal-Wellcome Memorial at 6 p.m. on Thursday.
