The Alden-Conger/Glenville-Emmons football team traveled to St. Clair Saturday night for their second-round section matchup. Despite coming off a big win in the first round, the Knights were unable to string together the momentum to pull out the victory as they fell to the Cyclones, 32-0.

Head coach Chad Mattson talked about his team after the game.

“They brought it tonight and we didn’t show up,” he said. “Tough way to end the year, but these boys had one hell of a season. 8-2, you can’t take that away. Great group of seniors that we’re gonna miss and a good group of guys to come back and give it another go next year.”

The Knights end the season with an 8-2 record, an improvement of their 4-5 record of one year ago. After losing their first game, they went on an impressive eight-game winning streak before falling in the section 2A semifinals.
