It is with a heavy heart that the family of Barbara “Grandma B” McNeese announces her passing on Tuesday, Jan. 31 , 2018, at the age of 79. 

Barbara was born in Albert Lea on April 12, 1938, to Ruford and Victoria McNeese and is survived by her brother Victor. 

She was in the Air Force and received her master’s degree as a family nurse practitioner from the University of California-San Francisco in 1985. Barbara has called Minnesota, California, New Jersey and North Carolina her home at various times in her life. She loved gardening, aerobics, reading, sewing and keeping order with a wooden spoon. 

She will be fondly remembered by her children Victoria (Tommy) Triplett, Stuart Thompson, Jeannie (Steve) Lovell and Michael (Alexis) Thompson; her eight grandchildren, Ashley, Alton, Aidan, Anders, Abigail, Kerstin, Lilly and Zachary; two great-grandchildren, Caleb and Ryan; and her cat, Betty Kitty.
