Evelyn passed away Monday, April 23, 2018, at Mayo Clinic Health System in Austin. She was 95.
Evelyn Doris (Krueger) Dolton was born Dec. 31, 1922, in rural Alden to George and Dora (Pestorious) Krueger. She was baptized in 1923 at Concordia Pickerel Lake Lutheran Church and confirmed in 1936 at the same church. She graduated from Alden High School. On Nov. 22, 1952, Evelyn was united in marriage to Ellsworth Dolton. The couple had two children, James and Robert. The couple would farm north of Alden for many years, until moving into town in 1982. Ellsworth would pass away Nov. 13, 1986.
Evelyn worked as a bookkeeper at Conger Sales Co., and also worked for Russell Babbitt.
She was a member of Concordia Lutheran Church before transferring to Redeemer Lutheran Church in Alden. Evelyn enjoyed dancing, sewing, bike riding and traveling — making it to nearly all 50 states.
Evelyn had a knack for gardening, growing many vegetables that she would often sell at local farmers markets. Evelyn loved her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren, and cherished moments spent with them.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Ellsworth; and parents George and Dora.
Evelyn is survived by her two children, Jim (Renae) Dolton of Alden and Bob Dolton of Albert Lea; and grandchildren Rachel (Frank Suera) and their children Frankie, Tyler and Jacob, and Jared (Logan) Dolton and their children McKenna, Bryce and McKinley.
Blessed be her memory.
