Edith Jackson, 1917-2018

Funeral services for Edith Mae Jackson, 100, of Albert Lea will be at 11 a.m. Thursday at Bayview/Freeborn Funeral Home. The Rev. Jamie Cameron will officiate. Interment will be at Hillcrest Cemetery at a later date. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the funeral home on Thursday. Online condolences are welcome at www.bayviewfuneral.com.

Edith Jackson

Edith died Sunday, June 3, 2018, in the presence of her family. She had resided at Oak Park Place for many years.

Edith Mae Jackson was born on Aug. 23, 1917, in Waterloo, Iowa, the daughter of Elmer Conklin and Mary Ellen (Wagoner) Mason. She attended school in Dodge Center and Brooklyn Center. On July 5, 1936, Edith married W. Bernard “Bernie” Jackson in Minneapolis. Together, they owned National Welding Supply. Edith enjoyed painting pictures, gardening, knitting, cooking and playing dominos or dice. She received a certificate for solo flight in an airplane.

Edith is survived by her daughters, Bunny (Ray) Jepson and Jane (Jerry) McColloch; nine grandchildren, 25 great-grandchildren, 15 great-great-grandchildren; sisters, Lois and Eunice of Rice Lake, Wisconsin, and Jean of Woodbury; sister-in-law, Millie of Becker; and many nieces and nephews.

Edith was preceded in death by her husband, Bernard; infant daughter; son, Dick Jackson; and seven brothers and sisters.
