Albert Lea high-risk offender charged with trespassing in vacant house

An Albert Lea Level 3 offender was charged last month with misdemeanor trespassing in Freeborn County District Court.

Cody Padraic Trott, 28, who is in custody in other files, was scheduled to be arraigned Wednesday on the misdemeanor but reportedly refused to attend court. He is in custody in the Freeborn County jail.

Court documents state Trott was charged after he was cited for trespassing July 12 at a vacant house at 15322 745th Ave., southwest of Albert Lea, according to the Freeborn County Attorney’s Office.

Judge Ross Leuning set conditional bail for Trott at $2,000.

Trott pleaded not guilty to domestic assault by strangulation, threats of violence, unauthorized use of a motor vehicle, fifth-degree controlled substance possession and domestic assault Tuesday.

A pre-trial hearing is scheduled Nov. 30 in that file, and a jury trial is scheduled to start Dec. 11.

Trott has a contested revocation hearing Sept. 13 on a separate file after allegedly violating probationary terms set in an escape from custody charge.

Trott is charged in a fourth file with a misdemeanor domestic abuse no-contact order violation. A pre-trial hearing is scheduled Nov. 30, and a jury trial is scheduled to begin Dec. 11.
