The Lighthouse has the blues

Albert Leans, get ready for some blues music.

The Lighthouse Event Center in Albert Lea is hosting Dave Lambert & the Motivators at 7:30 p.m. Saturday.

Dave Lambert has been playing blues around the world for almost four decades. The band’s tasteful slide and electrifying guitar-laced blues and rock grooves make this concert a must for serious music lovers.

Tickets are $15 in advance and available at Marshall Street Music, Hy-Vee and Stadheim Jewelers in Albert Lea and Coffee House on Main in Austin. Or tickets are $20 at the door before the show.

Friday

• The Albert Lea Art Center’s show “Celebrating the Lakes of Freeborn County” is open from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.

• First Lutheran Church hosts a salad luncheon from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. in Bethany Hall. Cost is $6, and the event benefits the radio fund. Use the south entrance.

• The Pelican Breeze II will hold a brats and burger night. The cruise leaves at 6 p.m., and reservations are needed by 4 p.m. by calling Albert Lea Parks & Rec at 377-4370. Cost is $20, and Green Mill will be serving food and beverages.

 

Saturday

• Glenville’s United Methodist Church hosts a bake sale and sloppy joe lunch event starting at 8 a.m.

• The Albert Lea Farmers Market is open from 9 a.m. to noon at the North Broadway parking lot.

• The Brookside Boathouse is open from 9 a.m. to noon, and boats are available for rental for $10 per boat.

• The Albert Lea Art Center’s show “Celebrating the Lakes of Freeborn County” is open from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.

• The Lighthouse Event Center presents Dave Lambert & the Motivators at 7:30 p.m.

 

Sunday

• The Pelican Breeze II holds a public cruise at 1:30 p.m., leaving from its dock on Albert Lea Lake. No reservations are needed, and cost is $10 for adults and $5 for children age 5 and younger.
