Ardis Schrader, 1930-2014

Ardis Georgeanne Schrader, 83, of Easton died Monday, June 9, 2014, at Mayo Clinic Health System in Albert Lea. Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at St Peter’s Lutheran Church in Easton. Visitation will be from 4 to 7 p.m. Friday at Bruss-Heitner Funeral Home in Wells. Visitation will continue one hour prior to the service at the church on Saturday. The Rev. Ardis was born Dec. 7, 1930, in Kiester to Gilbert and Julia (Bendickson) Wigern. Ardis graduated from Kiester High School. After graduation she worked as a secretary for Kiester High School. Ardis married Donald Schrader on July 24, 1953. She and Donald farmed outside of Easton.

She enjoyed cooking, watching her grandkids play ball, playing cards and she loved driving her Cadillac. Ardis was a member of St Peter’s Lutheran Church Ladies Aid and a lifelong member of the American Legion Auxiliary.

Ardis is survived by three sons, Jeff Schrader and Marie (Trio) of Easton, Tom Schrader and Mary Lee (Ince) of Jordan and Tim Schrader and Laurie (Schultz) of Bloomington; grandchildren Shannon (Chris) Albers, Ryan (Tiffany) Schrader, Adam, Andrew and Nicole Schrader and Zachariah Hahnen; two great-grandchildren, Riley and Bentley Schrader; sisters Gilma Lamping of Forest City, Iowa, and Betty Ann Elwell of Roswell N.M.; brother-in-law, Fred Schrader of Apple Valley; sisters-in-law Irene Miller of Albert Lea, LuAnn Schrader of Easton and Maxine Schrader of Faribault.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; son, Craig; grandson, David; daughter-in-law, Jennifer, and her siblings.
