Art celebration was a success

The Albert Lea Art Center extends its sincere appreciation to all who supported Art and Dixieland, the sixth annual celebration of the arts and artists at Wedgewood Cove on Sept. 25. Who can forget the smile or wide array of art displayed by James Wagner, featured artist? Or the dapper master of ceremonies, Roger Truax, who kept events moving smoothly? Or Jane Johnson as Coco Chanel? It was a beautiful evening in every respect.

While we honor the arts and artists, the event is also a major fundraiser for the Art Center. We are so thankful for the businesses and individuals who gave cash donations, provided door prizes and auction items.  Our community is so very generous in their support of the arts and the Art Center.

Special mention must be given to Wedgewood Cove and its employees who were so very helpful, to Hy-Vee for the beer and wine tasting set-up, and to the Albert Lea Tribune for their excellent coverage before and after the event. No event such as this can take place without the many volunteer hours spent in planning and to the staff at the Albert Lea Art Center. Most of all, we thank those who attended, purchased or donated items.
