Cynthia Groff, 1959-2016

Cynthia L. (Raisbeck) Groff, 56, of Mobile, Alabama, died Sunday, April 10, 2016, at her home.

She was born July 20, 1959, in Stoughton, Wisconsin, the daughter of Charles and Jeanette (Cullen) Raisbeck. Cynthia was a 1977 graduate of Beloit Memorial High School. She married Thomas Groff on May 28, 1991, in Albert Lea. He preceded her in death on Jan. 16, 2007.

Cynthia worked as the dietary manager at Thorne Crest Senior Living Community in Albert Lea. Her love for palm trees and beaches brought her to the south. She was an avid Green Bay Packers and NASCAR fan; her favorite driver was Matt Kenseth. Cynthia enjoyed flowers, gardening, cruises and country music.

Survivors include her mother, Jeanette Raisbeck, of Beloit, Wisconsin; brother, Larry Raisbeck, of Mobile, Alabama; sisters Christine Olson of Beloit and Margie (Mike) Leavitt of Roscoe, Illinois; mother-in-law, Shirley Groff, of Austin; sister-in-law, Janet (John) Westendorf, of Austin; brother-in-law, Wayne Freemyer, of Cottage Grove; nieces and nephews Scott (Shelly) Freemyer, Matt Raisbeck, Michelle Freemyer, Kevin Olson, Jen Leavitt and Beth (Matt) Strack; and several great-nieces and great-nephews.

She was preceded in death by her father; father-in-law; and two sisters, Connie Freemyer and Carol Raisbeck.

A memorial service for Cynthia will be 3 p.m. Saturday at Daley Murphy Wisch & Associates Funeral Home and Crematorium, 2355 Cranston Road in Beloit. The Rev. Ed Greenfield will officiate.
