Beata Schroader, 1924-2018

Funeral services for Beata I. Schroader, 94, of Alden, will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday at Bayview/Freeborn Funeral Home. The Rev. Vern Harris will officiate. Burial will be at Graceland Cemetery. Online condolences are welcome at www.bayviewfuneral.com.

Beata died peacefully on Saturday, July 28, 2018, at her home surrounded by her family.

Beata Schroader

Beata Ida Schroader was born on Feb. 5, 1924, in Springfield, the daughter of William and Ida (Rono) Neubauer. She was raised in Brown County, where she attended and graduated from Comfrey High School before furthering her education at Mankato State University. She graduated with a teaching degree. On June 21, 1953, Beata was united in marriage to Leslie Schroader in Kiester.

Beata retired after 32 years of teaching elementary school — the last 20 years of which were in the Alden-Conger School District. She enjoyed gardening, quilting and crocheting afghans, reading, playing cards and spending time in her gardens. Being a part of her family’s lives was most important to Beata.

Traveling throughout the U.S., including Hawaii and the Caribbean Islands, gave her many memories. She kept busy in the card club, get together club, birthday club, quilting club and the garden club.

Beata is survived by her children, Denise Olsen of Albert Lea, Jacquie Gilham of Helena, Montana; Scott (Janice) Schroader of Albert Lea, Craig (Christine) Schroader of Minnesota Lake and Ramona Anderson of Key West, Florida; 14 grandchildren Matthew (Andrea) Olsen, Angelique (Jay Nelson) Ruby, Jamie (Ryan) Ranalli, Elaine (Zach) Beaupre`, Krista (Curtis) Hartmann, Phillip (Mariah) Schroader, Cassie Schroader, Chad and Tara Gulbertson, Jena (Mike) Vaale and Joshua, Ali, Sidney and Mackenzie Anderson; 16 great-grandchildren, Christopher Ruby, Hunter Nelson, Audrey and Emma Harris, Ava and Rayden Ranalli, Corbin and Quinn Beaupre`, twins Lucas and Adalyn Schroader, Arista, Dominik and Tayler Gulbertson, Micaela, Torri and Olivia Vaale; sister, Alvera Fluegel; and nieces, nephews and cousins.

Beata was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Leslie, on Oct. 19, 2007; sisters Ethel Meier and Ruth Krummel; brothers Vincent Neubauer and Howard Neubauer; three brothers-in-law;Carl Fluegel, Otto Meier and Burt Krummel; and son-in-law, Daniel Gilham.
