Eli Menke, a fourth-grader at Lake Mills Community School, placed fourth in the 8- to 9-year-old division of the Elks National Hoop Shoot free throw contest in Chicago on April 16, according to a press release.

Menke earned his spot in the national finals by winning Elks Hoop Shoot competitions at the local, district, state and national-regional levels. Representing Rochester Elks Lodge No. 1091, Menke finished the entire five levels of competition by hitting 108-125 free throws.

Funded by the Elks National Foundation, the Elks Hoop Shoot offers boys and girls from ages 8 to 13 the opportunity to participate in healthy competition, connect with families and community, and succeed both on and off the court.
