The Lake Mills softball team worked its way back to .500 (8-8) with a 13-3 win Wednesday over North Iowa Conference foe Garner-Hayfield/Ventura.
Emily Orban led the Bulldogs from the pitching circle with four strike-outs and one walk in seven innings.
After the first inning, the Bulldogs led 3-2, and Lake Mills went on to outscore the Cardinals 10-1 in the final six innings.
“After a shaky first inning, we settled down and played some good softball,” Lake Mills head coach Rick Orban said.
Randi Dilly earned a team-high three hits, and Megan Johnson hit a double, triple and home run.
“Megan was a single away from hitting for the cycle,” coach Orban said.
