Here are highlights in history for Dec. 1, gleaned from the files of the Albert Lea Tribune:

1988 — Albert Lea’s Y’s Men organization was planning to sell 650 Christmas trees at their lot near the Skyline Mall.

1978 — A grand opening was held for the newly remodeled Hickory Hills Supper Club near Twin Lakes.

1958 — Interstate Power Co. announced plans to purchase 400 acres of land near lower Albert Lea Lake as a site for an electrical power generating plant. (Note: This project never became a reality.)
